Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six?sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Perform quality system & process audits as assigned to ensure compliance to company, customer & government regulatory requirements
Facilitate customer or regulatory audits to assure auditor obtains concise, reliable responses to audit inquiries
Develop, disseminate & maintain Quality Management System Manual
Assist Quality Manager in collecting and measuring quality performance metrics
Assist Quality Manager in a company wide preventive and corrective action program
Assist Quality Engineering on investigation of customer rejections, returns or complaints
Bachelors Degree, in technical or professional field, or 5 years job experience in Quality Assurance as a Quality Engineer
Advance reading and comprehension of Aerospace Engineering drawings. Interpret customer engineering date, blueprints, wire frame models and 3D models.
Knowledge of Trigonometry calculations and the applications of shop mathematical concepts.
Knowledge and use of inspection tools such as: micrometers, dial/digital calipers, dial indicators, etc.
Knowledge of AS 9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Business Systems
Knowledge of a simple ERP/MRP system would be an advantage.
Must have a “can do” attitude and be flexible to adapt to business-driven work requirements
Proficient in MS products (Word, Excel, Access)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
