Summary

Responsible for the implementation of Operations Excellence (OpEx) activities, principles, techniques, and methodologies to obtain the most efficient utilization of labor, material, and capital at all Zodiac DCISfacilities. Leads, organizes and executes a wide range of OpEx activities including but not limited to planning/developing/documenting Kaizen events, performing 6-S audits, process mapping, capability studies, root cause analysis, coordination of all department and other support areas during OpEx activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Works with executives, senior leadership and site leaders to develop and implement improvement roadmaps to eliminate operational wastes in the manufacturing, office and administrative processes.

•Provide Leadership across the group to improvement activities aimed at reducing cost and lead-time

•Fosters a positive relationships within the OpEx function and between the Kaizen teams and the divisional organization.

•Trains all levels within the organization to develop the mix of skills and abilities to facilitate successful OpEx behaviors.

•Develops and deploys Lean Manufacturing training materials, coordinating and providing Lean Manufacturing direction, education and support to functions such as Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, HR and Engineering.

Job description

•Serves as the divisional representative for all corporate lean activities.

•Works with site leaders and senior leadership to develop and implement improvements to eliminate operational wastes in the manufacturing, office and administrative processes.

•Develops implementation plans and budgets for annual lean operations and implementation of long range plans.

•Performs extensive data collection and tracking including but not limited to WIP, labor productivity, rework, raw material inventory, overtime, to identify and addresses OpEx opportunities.

•Assists in the development and maintenance of an OpEx business culture at all levels, which supports the company's overall business objectives and goals by providing leadership in issues that involve cost, quality, process, schedule and people.

•Prepares, executes, revises and measures the progress of continuous improvement plans.

•Secures critical resources for lean transformation. Develops the lean knowledge of high potential employees throughout the organization.

•Travels to various Zodiac DCISfacilities to train and implement applicable OpEx processes.

•Ensures the company's commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of company policy and adherence to applicable government regulations.

•Serves as a mentor and provides direction and guidance for overall business unit OpEx initiatives.

•Reviews work of Functional Managers and all key decisions to ensure company objectives are met and execution of program/project budgets and schedules for each program are accomplished

•Provides definition, development and implementation of standard operations frameworks for all Operations functional areas

•Ensures that all functional teams follow established BMS processes and using standard templates, documentation and methodology

•Shares knowledge across organizational boundaries and promotes continuous process improvement

Qualifications

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing and/or Industrial)

Minimum 10 years manufacturing leadership experience.

5+ years aerospace specific experience required, transportation interiors experience preferred.

Six Sigma Black Belt required.

Lean/5S experience required.

Master's degree or MBA preferred.
