Position Purpose: Responsible for the creation of items on petco.com using physical and electronic samples, including the creation of cross-sells and kit items, master data maintenance, sales-driving merchandising activities, data optimization for web commerce, on-line marketing, site, and 3rd party support related to e-commerce and company initiatives. Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation: Master Data Management (60%) Gather samples from Sample Coordinator, Merchandising Managers, and outside vendors for item setup. Utilize Petco systems, vendor data and physical samples to Create and Maintain product data in the petco.com database by performing data entry of product copy and attribution data. Create and Maintain Parent/Child product hierarchy. Maintain petco.com merchandising hierarchy. Create and Maintain cross-sells, simple and complex pack items, and work with Site Merchandising and Merchandising Managers to identify sales opportunities. Assist in proofing product data, photography, and website for accuracy. Assist in the maintenance of the petco.com Product Data Style Guide. Maintain E-Commerce web inventory. Merchandising Programs (15%) Execute on-site merchandising programs as defined by Site Merchandising, Merchandising Managers, and Marketing teams, including but not limited to, Product Banners, Custom URLs, Specialty Shop and Boutique initiatives, Search and List Page opportunities, 3rd party landing pages. Monitor and maintain rejected reviews related to petco.com products. Provide primary support for customer service related to site merchandising data and activities. Assist in the testing and implementation of site merchandising programs, technologies, and activities. Work with cross-functional teams to support the execution of site, circular, seasonal, marketing and vendor programs. Assist E-Commerce Merchandising Supervisor with 3rd party sales channels and data maintenance. Digital Asset Management (10%) Provide additional coverage and support for Merchandise Sample Coordinator as needed. Support the delivery of digital assets with Petco merchants and 3rd party vendors. Support SEO and hierarchical tagging and optimization of digital assets. Departmental Initiatives (10%) Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support departmental strategic initiatives in a consistent, professional and timely manner, with emphasis in the following areas: o Email and Vendor Marketing support; content and video integration; SEO optimization; data collection, analysis and maintenance related to new and existing products. Analytics (5%) Uses analytic tools and reporting to ensure strategic initiatives are optimized on the Core Channel, secondary and 3rd party sites. Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and annual program reporting resulting in actionable items to increase sales and protect margin for Core, Secondary and 3rd party websites. Supervisory Responsibility: None. Provides guidance on product information quality to E-Commerce Merchandise Coordinator and on-line and off-line business partners. Work Environment: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer, with little or no exposure to hazards. Some lifting and minor local travel is required for the E-Commerce Assistant Merchandiser. QualificationsEducation/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a four-year college is preferred; Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with professional e-commerce or equivalent applications including at least two years experience in product copywriting is required; Minimum 3 years experience with retail and/or manufacturing/distribution e-commerce systems; Intermediate to Advanced understanding of web-based technologies, business concepts and database applications; Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to diverse groups of internal and external clients to include vendors, consultants, designers and developers; Knowledge of, and interest in, the e-commerce market space; Intermediate to Advanced MS Office, SQL, CSS and HTML skills; Ability to work in a team oriented environment, as well as independently; Efficient organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent demands; Ability to work the required hours of the position; Ability to work well and productively with frequent interruptions; Excellent professional integrity and a strong work ethic.
