Sharp HealthCare Pharmacy Compliance Specialist - Acute Care in San Diego, California

Summary

The Pharmacy Compliance Specialist manages a set of billing procedures and quality improvement processes designed to provide an effective mechanism for Pharmacy Services to comply with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations governing pharmacies' activities; this includes billing of pharmaceuticals; monitoring the integrity and facilitating corrections to the pharmacy computer master file as well as the IDX/HPA pharmacy charge master. Proactively identifying and working to correct potential compliance issues. Investigation of billing issues to identify and help correct root causes of error including order entry methodology, database configuration and interface functionality.

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: System Pharmacy Services, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Hours

FULL-TIME

8 hour variable shift, weekends as need.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Current unencumbered CA Pharm Tech license

  • Minimum two (2) years current experience as a hospital pharmacy technician

  • Working knowledge of personal computers and pharmacy-related computer systems

  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the pharmacy profession

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
