Teradata is seeking an experienced technologist to join the Communications team of the Technology and Innovation Office (TIO). As a member of the team, you will work collaboratively with the other teams in TIO and beyond (Strategic Offer Management, Marketing, University Relations) to promote and evangelize Teradata technology, both internally and externally.

The work will include creating the content through harvesting information in collaboration with the Technology, Innovation and Security teams as well as Teradata engineering and market trends, crafting the stories, and documenting and communicating to targeted audiences internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Harvest content and create messages/stories around Teradata technology.

  2. Spearhead promoting Teradata technology externally through a variety of channels including but not limited to conferences, social media, white papers, orange books, blogs, hackathons.

  3. Assist Sales, Marketing and University Relations Teams by providing and/or delivering technical content remotely, at hosted customer briefings and on-site.

  4. Communicate Teradata technology internally to help align the organization with Teradata’s vision and strategy, and for educational purposes.

  5. Prepare content and present at conferences and industry events.

  6. Champion the consistent usage of vocabulary across Teradata.

  7. Support the buildout of infrastructure and processes to support communication programs including Labs Talk, ARB decisions, Hackathons, speaker placement, or a central vocabulary.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10 years of experience in technology in the field of large scale, distributed systems

  • Ability to harvest information about technology and its use cases, develop a cohesive and interesting story, and craft targeted messages to be used in blogs, white papers, orange books, presentations

  • Ability to work effectively in a small team of highly skilled technologists and liaison with the academic world doing research

  • Excellent presenter

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as this role requires significant interaction with other teams and external customers/partners

  • Proficiency in the creation of cogent, well-organized and well-written technical and competitive material
