Serves as the Supervisor of a Technical Operations System Support Center (SSC). The incumbent has responsibility for administrative and technical direction of the assigned staff consisting of specialists, technicians, and other FAA support staff involved in the maintenance of the NAS. Incumbent is responsible for the management of resources (people, funds, and equipment) to meet the goal of continuous safe and reliable air travel. Reports directly to the District Office Manager and Technical Operations Manager.

Directs the work of subordinate employees for more than one organizational unit/project/program within a major subdivision. Duties typically include planning/communicating the organization's vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and developing employee capabilities, approving leave, and taking, recommending or approving corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate.

Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, an advanced knowledge of budget, human resources and other administrative policies and procedures, and an advance understanding of the objectives of the organization.

Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the SSC, Participates in planning and executing organizational goals utilizing strategic planning and sound management principles in order to accomplish mission objectives.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.

Specialized Experience:

Work experience may include but not limited to: Experience which demonstrates a knowledge of NAS operations and activities, and ability to plan, organize, evaluate, or monitor the work of others.
